Adhesive dentistry has taken over the dental world to remain here and it is the one that allows composite resin and porcelain to stick to the dental structure . Bondings are sculpted, hardened with light and polished, all this process in one session. Composite resin, the main material for bonding is not only used to fill cavities after removing decay but also used in cosmetic treatments like reshaping teeth and closing gaps or spaces between frontal teeth, known as diastemas.

Normally bondings have to be redone in a few years, it depends a lot on the size of the restauration. In order to get a long-term treatment, the patient has to know about porcelain. Just like bondings, porcelain is a tooth-colored and enamel-like material that also bonds to teeth, but it has differences, it is harder and its color never changes with time.

Porcelain crowns, porcelain veneers and bridges last longer than bondings. In order to treat teeth with porcelain, they need to be trimmed to give space to this porcelain. Since dentists need to work the porcelain in dental labs, it takes more than one session to finish these treatments.
